Are you living with Diabetes?

Are you living with diabetes? You are not alone! Around 8% of people with a diabetes diagnoses have Type 1 diabetes, and around 90% of people with diabetes diagnosis have type 2 diabetes. Over 4.7 million people are living with a diagnoses of diabetes in the UK.

As part of managing diabetes, you should attend an annual review* with your GP surgery. This is a 2 part review, booked via your GP surgery, that includes an initial health check, foot check and blood test, and a follow up appointment with a diabetes nurse to review results and discuss any necessary changes to medication or lifestyle. Treatment for diabetes is designed to keep your blood sugars in a healthy range.

You will also be invited for diabetic eye screening if you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and are over the age of 12.

*review frequency can vary based on patient need. An annual review is the minimum requirement.
