Living well with chronic pain
Pain cafe’s are a peer led support group, designed empower patients to better manage their chronic pain conditions. The service is tailored to the groups’ needs and aims to:
· Encourage a “skills, not pills” approach through peer support, helping people develop practical self-management strategies.
· Reduce social isolation and strengthen support networks.
· Provide access to information, guidance, support, and signposting to relevant local services and community resources. This includes presentations and workshops from guest speakers.
Pain cafés are a service for:
· Older adults living with long-term chronic pain.
· Working-age adults who are off work because of persistent pain or are returning to work while managing a long-term pain condition.
· Adults seeking additional support to complement their existing pain management plan.
Please note: Pain Cafés are not suitable for people with complex mental health needs.
Pain cafe’s take place once a month in a community setting.
