Enhanced Access

Enhanced Access is a service delivered by the PCN to provide patients with access to clinical appointments outside of core practice hours.

We deliver enhanced access from PCN Member practice sites as well as remotely, Monday to Saturday. If you have an appointment booked with enhanced access and need to change or cancel it, please contact us via the enhanced access phone line and leave a message: 01223 658146

Who can I see in Enhanced Access?

We offer a variety of clinical appointments in enhanced access, including:

  • GP appointments (face to face or telephone)
  • Pharmacist appointments (telephone)
  • Nurse appointments (face to face)
  • HCA & Phlebotomy appointments (face to face)

What conditions can be seen in Enhanced Access?

Enhanced access can be booked for routine care of existing conditions.

If you are experiencing any of the following, please contact your GP surgery or 111 if out of hours, as these are not suitable conditions to be seen in Enhanced Access:

Chest pain

Palpitations/ heart rhythm issues

Breathing issues

Acute Abdominal Pain

Acute Dizziness

Acute Headache

Acute Mental Health

Acute limb weakness/slurred speech

Acute trauma/ RTA assessments

*Acute: a condition or symptom that comes on suddenly, is severe, and requires short-term, urgent treatment.

When should I call 999?

999 should be called in life-threatening emergencies, like serious road traffic accidents, strokes or heart attacks. More information on when to call 999 can be found on the NHS website below.
